This course will start by providing you with an introduction to maintenance practices including technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis. You will then cover the theory behind thermography, learn how to take thermograms and conduct basic analysis to diagnose faults in common types of equipment.
If you have never been involved in thermography before then by the end of this course you should be in a position where you are ready to undertake data collection under supervision. If you already have the necessary practical experience for certification, then along with the exam you should be ready to get certified.

- Maintenance practices and thermography
- Interpretation of thermograms
- Sources of heat in equipment
- Requirements for data collection
- Basic analysis of data
- Basic corrective actions
Demonstrate the ability to:
- Take quality thermograms
- Use software to enhance the image
- Use tools to identify thermal anomalies
There are no formal prerequisites for this course, however, some exposure to thermographs will be beneficial and we recommend our included Mathematics for CM and NDT Methods course.
